Let me introduce myself.
I am Gustav Gourmand and I love to eat. In fact, food is my hobby,
my muse, my joy. Some eat to live. I live to eat.
I want to taste. I
want to experiment. I want to venture into uncharted territory. I
want to try the different, the exotic, the quirky, even the risky. I want
to find the YUMMY in life.
I am aptly named.
You see, a Gourmand is a person who eats EVERYTHING! While a
gourmet may eat the finest and know it, I, on the other hand, will eat
everything and know what is good and true and YUMMY. I endeavor with all
my heart to find the tastiest, even in the plebeian fare. If it's worth
eating, I believe we should eat it well!
I have the great fortune
to have landed my culinary tugboat in the gustatorial splendor of Athens, Ohio.
A gem. An oasis. A spendid mixture of Ohio Appalachia and
World-wide culture. Within a block or two or three, we can eat
world-class hot dogs, Cuban Food, that strange Athens creation of Hippie
Mexican and just around the corner Moroccan. Amazing!! And that's just
one part of town!
So ... be watching for my
posts on various restaurants in the Athens area and my reviews and the musings
of my eating companions.
